This section of the site provides information about the three Tweed Valley Historical Societies: The Tweed Heads Society at Tweed Heads, the Murwillumbah Society at Murwillumbah, and the Uki and South Arm Society, based at Uki.In conjunction with Tweed Shire Council (owners of the Tweed River Regional Museum), the Societies assist with the day to day operation of the Tweed River Regional Museum sites at Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah.
The Societies have a long record of collaboration in the recording of the history of
the Tweed. Starting with the joint development of Land Records of the Valley; the
development of a Pioneer Index 1845 to 1918 for the Valley and the sharing of all
their computer based records through the Tweed Valley Integrated Database.
The Societies are jointly represented on the Tweed Shire's Tweed River Regional Museum advisory Committee.
This site provides a briefing on the combined activities and resources and then moves on to a individual Society by Society run down.
